Last week was National Vision Therapist Appreciation Week. Dr. Lisa Weiss and Dr. Elizabeth Christensen both took an opportunity to thank the therapists here at Rancho Santa Fe Optometry. Get to know our therapists:
Emily Christensen, BS, COVT
Growing up in Southern California, Emily received a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communication from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She has worked at the practice throughout high school and college and has now come back full time as the vision therapist. She became a certified vision therapist in 2015. Emily also now manages the practice, both primary care and vision therapy departments. She loves working one on one with patients of all ages. When she’s not at the office she can be found working on her other passion, graphic design.
Christina Causland, BS, MS
A Philadelphia native, Christina relocated to the San Diego area in 2015. Christina was a dual major in Secondary Education and Earth Science, earning a Bachelor’s degree in 2009 from La Salle University. While working as a Middle School science teacher, Christina earned her Master of Science from Wilkes University. Applying her background in education and science, Christina is part of our Vision Therapy team as well as a dynamic office team member. In her free time, Christina enjoys hiking, cooking, volunteering, traveling and continuing to discover the San Diego area!
At Rancho Santa Fe Optometry we offer comprehensive eye examinations for all ages. With a focus on children’s vision and vision therapy, our doctors test for visual acuity, visual efficiency skills and visual information processing starting in early infancy. The practice also provides diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases that affect the human eye and visual system, including dry eye syndrome, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, macular degeneration and keratoconus.
